A Quick Update

Things here at the Cove are slowing down a bit but we are still keeping busy booking cabins :) The campground is very quiet these days as people want to get away from the rain that we have been seeing for the past week or so. This certainly is not stopping the fishermen and women! There were 3 or 4 Humpbacks out there this morning that some people got the privilege to see as they caught a few fish, so the activity out there hasn't slowed down for a second!

The last day of whale watching is October 3rd and the last trip for Grizzly tours is September 30th so you can still make reservations before then. We will be renting out our cabins here until September 4th, our tentative closing day is the 5th.

We hope to see you out at the Cove before the end of the season!!

Ready, set, FISH!

The fishing derby was a success this weekend with the salmon winner being Markee A. She was the first to bring in a salmon all day, and it remained the biggest at 28 lb. Gordie Graham, his daughter and 2 grandaughters brought in a 27.5 lb salmon bringing the compotition close! The biggest bottom fish was a 33 lb Halibut brought in by Wayne R.
As for the kids division, Danial M. brought in a 16.5 salmon and the bottom fish winner weighed in at a wopping 1 lb!
Good job to everyone who participated, congradualtions to our winners, and we thank everyone who donated to the Salmon Enhancment; we raised over $1,000.00!!!!

The sun has decided to shine today, and we had 2 nice halibut in yesterday, about 50-60 lb each, I would have to say, though, that our catch of the week would be by Brian Lutz, he brought in a 47 lb Spring this afternoon. biggest I have seen all season!
So with fishing like this, theres no reason to miss out!
See you at the Cove!

The Place To Be

Hello!
Lately it has been a little windy on the water, but that dosen't stop the fishermen and woman from getting out on the water at the peak of dawn. If they arn't catching fish they are getting a good look at what nature has to offer; whales, sea lions, a variety of birds and why not feed the eagles why you're out there! The opportunities for a good time or good sight seeing are endless at Telegraph Cove.
The restaurant has been busy, busy, busy for the last couple weeks. Gordie, Telegraph Coves owner, does a fantastic Salmon BBQ twice a week on the boardwalk, defenately something to come out and enjoy!
And don't forget to get your crafts or goodies prepared for the annual craft fair on July 31st, its totally free to set up anyplace you find along the boardwalk, and for the fishermen, don't forget to gear up for the fishing derby on August 1st, Just $10 for a good time and a chance to win loads of prizes; there is a potluck in the campground afterward where the prizes will be handed out.
Hope to see you all at the Cove!!

Open Season

Hello again, we are now open for summer 2010 and expect another great fishing season, so rig your rods, clean the boat, pack up and head on down to Telegraph Cove for some excellent memories and awsome fishing.
Yesterday a salmon and halibut were brought in and our friend the Eagle is back, hanging out around the Cove, giving tourists wonderful snap shots and exitment. It was about three years ago when this beautiful Bald Eagle started hanging out around the Cove, where it is well fed and has beautiful surroundings.
We hope to have another great year and hope you all can join us! Craft fairs, fishing derbys, pot lucks and more to come... See you there!
