Update from the Cove!

Things are starting to pick up here at Telegraph Cove. Only two days to go until we are fully "on" season, and the cabins are booking up quickly!

At the moment, the sun is shining, the water is calm and we are happy to have many visitors.
We are also pleased to report that the fishing is great. This morning Roy came in with a fair sized spring, a 10-15lb halibut and a few goob crab. Gordie snagged a 30lb spring as well. We were very excited to see one of our first time guests come in from the marina with a fish of her own and a smile on her face.

The whale watching a Grizzley tours have also been going well. Although our resident orcas have not arrived in the area as of yet, Stubbs Island has been reporting Grey whales, dolphins, sea otters, harbour seals and porpoises frequently.

We are looking forward to a busy season, and can't wait see old faces and greet new ones!

Whales & Wildlife Sightings (courtesy of Stubbs Island Whale Watching):

Dall's porpoises, harbour porpoises, and steller sea lions are commonly sighted. Birds sighted June 2nd include the rhinocerous auklets, harlequin ducks, bald eagles, belted kingfishers, scoters and cormorants.

Around the resort: watch for resident bald eagles (look up!), mink on the docks and shore, black bears on the road in, bald eagles at the sea soil site, and moose around the bottom of the Tsalton Hill late evenings.
